Some say to apply oil before moisturizer, so that it absorbs right into your skin before you slather on more hydration, while others say to apply it after your moisturizer, so that the occlusive (that means it locks in moisture) layer of oil seals in everything you’ve applied beneath it, like your serum and cream.
When should I apply face oil to my routine?
You can apply facial oil in the morning and at night after cleansing and moisturizing. First, cleanse, then apply your moisturizer, and finally smooth on facial oil to seal in moisture.
Can Face Oil replace moisturizer?
You would use the facial oil under your moisturizer or on its own. Nor do they give dry skin the rich mix of emollients it needs for lasting improvement. That’s why we don’t recommend replacing your moisturizer with a face oil.

How do you apply face oil?
Morning and night, apply 4-5 drops of oil onto the palm of your hand. With your finger, dab the oil in small dots onto cleansed skin, avoiding your eye area. Then, gently smooth and press the oil onto your face and neck, using the whole surface of your hands.
